Quarantine

QUARANTINE “Please follow the arrows,” said the automated voice above our heads; Ushered from one glass hall to another, isolated from the rest of the world; “Please follow the arrows,” it repeated. I followed. Image : Sonya, author of Only 100 Words.

Whispered Secrets

They talk, I listen. Echoes of worlds unseen.
All the dirty secrets they whisper to one another, I hear clearly.
All the lies, all the betrayals, they are mine to keep in the shadows of these walls.

The City of Light

Every night, I see her. There she is, smiling at me, like nothing ever happened to her. Like she didn’t die by the hand of a trusted friend, like she never suffered of loss. She takes my hand and guides me through stone halls, and we talk. She asks me how I am, how are things “back home”. I tell how I am struggling with stubborn friends who won’t listen to my warnings, and she helps me. I tell her how much I miss her, and she kisses me.

Invincible

When you lift your head and see the immensity of infinity above,
When you feel the world is resting on your shoulders only,
Remember you are invincible as long as you dream.

I Believe I Can Fly

This is going to be a hard one, Jacob thought as he raced swiftly to the top of the scaffolding along with three other boys. Their friendship was somewhat toxic, he knew it; they kept encouraging each other to do the most stupid and dangerous deeds, as if to prove something to each other. That was also why he loved them so much; they were his very best friends.
